Boston Area Dancers
- Badriya - Badriya
organizes most Gothic Bellydance events in Boston, and she is also an accomplished Egyptian-style dancer. She can be seen dancing at the Middle East and other events throughout the area.
- Aepril Schaile - An amazing gothic bellydancer from Maine, her performances are a combination of dance, theater, and ritual. Takes my breath away every time. This dancer could change the world.
- Nikki - Nikki is an amazing local dancer, one of my favorite to watch. You can see her at the Middle East among other places.
- Nadira Jamal - Award-winning American-Style Bellydancer, her website contains few good articles on dance and she does a podcast! Nadira
can be seen performing in the Boston area.
- Phoenix Avatthar - Performs Gothic and Tribal bellydance,
and has a studio in Worcestor MA.
- Zehara - Boston's Snake Charmer and another Middle East dancer! If you would like a snake dancer at your event, she is the one to call. She raises each snake as part of her own family, and treats them like the stars they are.
- Zemirah - Zemirah is not only a beautiful American Cabaret style dancer with lots of energy, she is also a costume designer! A few years ago, she made velvet trumpet skirts for our entire dance class for the recital - impressive!
Boston Area Teachers/Dancers
- Amira Jamal - Teaches some of the best belly dancer professionals in Boston, specializing in performance skills and the American 5-Part Routine
- Katia of Boston - A very
knowledgeable and experienced teacher! Teaches Egyptian and
folkloric styles. Runs dancer-focused trips to Egypt.
- Melina of the Daughters of Rhea - Scholar, Bellydancer and Circus Performer. She teaches in Newton and sometimes in Greece.
- Phaedra - Teaches musical interpretation, improvisation, as well as technique.
- Lilya - A beautiful dancer, accomplished choreographer and talented teacher.
Accomplished in sword and tray balancing.
- Najmat - An extremely talented dancer,
very popular in Boston, that teaches a demanding class for advanced dancers.
Her style is pan-Arabic, with a lot of beledi and saidi styling.
- Seyyide - Boston's most Egyptian style teacher and director of award-winning Troupe Sarab.
- Jemileh - Teaches classes for all levels that focuses on muscle-driven technique
- Sabrina teaches and dances in many places in Massachusetts. Her dancing can be very dramatic and she excels in a range of styles. She is the best person to learn floorwork from.

- Middle East Restaurant - Bellydancers on Wednesday and Sunday nights
- Athenian Corner - Bellydancing on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays
Music
- Hollywood Music/Peko Records - Great source for Arabic and bellydance music, as well as performance DVDs.
- Pangia - This American band plays classic bellydance music. Most of their arrangements are short, perfect for putting together restaurant routines. They do everything from Turkish (Siseler) to Egyptian (Zeina),
and original compositions as well. Although they are located
in California, they do play the east coast at
Rakkasah East.
Their CDs #2 and #3 are on Itunes and the other ones can be ordered
from their website.
- Nancy Ajram - I
always have a good show if I dance to Nancy Ajram - never fails.
She's sweet and cute, and has great music videos.

- Akai Silks - The most beautiful silk veils - I always get
compliments on them.
- Saroyan Zills and
Scimitars - All my zils are Saroyan zils. I use Arabesque
II in German Silver.
- Sassy Sparkles - Boston's Eye Candy vendor, Nastasia is also a dancer and she is great at choosing glitter colors to go with your costumes. She vends at area events and sells online at this website.
