Weddings sometimes need an extra pop to distinguish them from all the other weddings. While bellydancers are traditional for Middle Eastern weddings, they can also make a great addition to all sorts of weddings.
Nepenthe's performance ideally takes place during or after the dessert course. She can entertain your guests, and start the party off right. Sometimes guests need a little prodding to get them on the dance floor. What better way to inspire them than a belly dancer?
A typical wedding set would include 15-20 minutes of dancing, including veil work and
finger cymbals. The set can be
tailored according to the tastes of the wedding guests, but usually consists of
Turkish, Lebanese or Egyptian music. Love songs will be especially chosen.
Nepenthe will invite any brave child to come out and dance with her. This
makes for great photo opportunities.
Nepenthe will invite the bride out onto the dance floor to show off a few moves, and then get the groom to join them. Perhaps he will learn to shoulder shimmy!
The final song will be an upbeat pop song, such as Hakim's cover of "Walk Like an Egyptian" to get the whole wedding up and dancing around the bride & groom.
By request, Nepenthe may be able to match her costume to the color scheme of the
wedding, or dance to particular songs that are special to the bride & groom.
Multiple dancers can also be arranged.
